Round 2 The Kanga News

14 Apr 2019 by Sunbury Kangaroos

OH WHAT A NIGHT!
The Kangas took on East Sunbury for The Local Cup, Sponsored by the Local Bottle Shop, Goonawarra, and the Roo boys didn’t disappoint. In front of a packed house, the Kangas demolished their newest crosstown rivals by 75 points under the bright-ish council supplied lights. It was a very tight affair for most of the first term with neither team scoring a major until the 18 minute mark. The game then opened up, The Baddeley brothers kicked 3 between them, Big Bogut goaled from a Devils freekick (666), and Kilty popped one through the big sticks, giving the Roos a handy 27 point lead the first break. The Kangas continued their domination, keeping East goalless in the 2nd term and extended their lead to 50 points at the main break. The second half saw much of the same, Easts trying to play catch up footy against a bigger, stronger Kangaroos.
Best on – J.Opie

Tara Mckean dominated the ruck contests giving the Roo girls first use of the footy on most occasions, with the usual suspects of Dekazos, Said and Co, delivering into to the forward line better than Australia post into your letter box. JOKE OF THE WEEK
I went to the doctor the other day and told him I was worried about my height.
The doctor asked me how come?
I told him that for my weight I should be 7ft 8".
