Round 4
5 May 2019 by Sunbury Kangaroos
SENIOR WOMEN OUT CLASSED.
Aberfeldie played host to our senior Women on Friday night. The result a first in our short history of women’s football, not scoring a single point. A fitter, faster and better skilled Abers keeping our girls scoreless for the whole match. Regardless of the final outcome the Kangas still played with the same grit and determination we’ve come to know and love, just out of luck in front of goals.
Best on – R. Dekazos

U/19’S MAULED BY TIGERS
The 19’s travelled again this week, this time to West Meadows, apparently the home club of some Brownlow winner, what was his name? Anyhow the Tigers were too strong for our young Kangas, winning by 97 points. Keep working hard lads the win will come.

THE GREAT ESCAPE.
The Roo Boys got away with the points in a lacklustre display at Hadfield. The game dictated by an over zealous and very ambitious umpire, saw 2 yellow cards in the first 2 minutes of play, but lets not harp on that bloke, when you give the opposition front position for most of the match, what do you expect. The Kangas went into the first break 18 points up after a slow start. The second term saw Hadfield lift and put the pressure right back on the Roos to get within 5 points at halftime. Unable to adjust to the windy conditions, the Roo Boys were wasteful in front of goal in the third term scoring 1.4, while the Hawks kicked 3.3 and took the lead at the final change. The coaches address at 3/4 time should have fired the boys up, (it almost raised the dead from next door at Fawkner) but the Hawks kicked the first for the quarter to extend their lead. It wasn’t until late in the quarter that the Roo Boys would take the lead and win the game by 3 points.
Best on – B. Sutherland

ROO’S 2’s CLINCAL
I think the Storm are missing B.Slater, he put through 5 conversions as the Roo Boys went about their business in destructive fashion. The Kangas were never challenged by Hadfield at anytime, with our boys kicking goals for fun, getting another win on the board by 116 points.
Best on – B. Slater

JOKE OF THE WEEK
I was sitting having a beer at the bar with a mate the other day. He pointed at the old drunks sitting opposite and said, “If we keep going like this, that will be us in 10 years”. I turned to him and said “that’s a mirror you dickhead”
