U/19’s START SUPER SATURDAY WITH A WIN.
The Young Roos got the day off to a good start with their second win of the season, knocking off Burnside Heights by 33 points. The Roos radar was off again in the 1st quarter kicking 6 behinds, lucky for them the Bears could only manage 1 goal themselves and at the first break the game was all tied up. The 2nd quarter saw the Young Roos kick away as Burnside had their turn of the yips in front of goal, and at the main break the Roos went into the sheds 13 points ahead. The Roos put on another 3.5 in the 3rd quarter, giving themselves a handy 28 point lead going into the last. The lads defended their lead in the last quarter, running over the Bears, and getting the 1st win off the day. Well done lads keep it going.

ROO’S 2’s ROLL ON.
Another win to the Roo’s 2’s, brushing aside Burnside Heights by 68 points. From first to last, the Roos had the Bears covered for the whole match. Dan Ellery’s 4 goals and vintage display of footy should have earned him best on, but I think the shoelace head band may have cost him. Good job boys getting the 2nd win of the day.

WOMEN OUT SCORE MEN
The Lady Roos can claim the bragging rights for the weekend, beating Burnside Heights by the biggest margin of the day, 88 points. Alex Quigley shot the lights out with 10 goals in a dominant display. The defence stood tall repelling the Bears attacks, keeping them to a miserly 2.2 for the entire game, while the engine room of Said, Dekazos and Bell kept the forwards in good supply. Well done girls on another solid performance and win number 3 for the day.

THE BATTLE OF BURNSIDE
This is the game we’ve been waiting to see, 1st v 2nd. If the rain had stayed away, this match could’ve been a shoot out, but that wasn’t to be. The Roo Boys could’ve finished the 1st quarter a lot further in front if not for errant kicking. The wind and rain made conditions tough for both sides to score, with the Roos ending the quarter 4 points up. You never poke a sleeping Bear, they get angry, and that’s just what they did. The Bears took it to the Roo Boys and kept them goalless in the 2nd quarter, taking the lead, leaving the Roos 1 goal down at the main change. In the 3rd quarter, the arm wrestle continued, the Roo Boys started to lift as Big Bogut started to dominate the ruck contests, allowing the Kangas to turn a 1 goal deficit into a 1 goal lead at the final change. The last quarter was all Kangas, keeping the Bears goalless and running out the game winners by 36 points. Great job boys getting win number 4 for the day and winning the Battle of Burnside.
