TIGERS TAMED BY ROOS
The Lady Roos have jumped up to 3rd spot on the ladder after defeating Westmeadows by 56 points. The Roos had a relatively comfortable game keeping Westmeadows to just 2 goals in the first half and scoreless in the second. Alex Quigley returned for her third game for the Roo Girls, kicking 8 majors and propelling her to the top of the EDFL Premier Women’s goal kicking table with 30 goals. Not a bad effort from 3 games. With just 4 rounds to go, the Lady Roos look certain to play finals for a 3rd consecutive season. Well done girls the hard work is paying off.
Best on – A. Quigley

The Young Roos have kept their chances of playing finals alive, by defeating the Northern Saints by 25 points. The Roos jumped out of the blocks kicking 3 straight to Saints 3 behinds to lead at quarter time by 15. The Saints fought back in the 2nd quarter to trail the Kangas by just 4 points. The 3rd quarter was a dog fight, with both teams trying to assert their authority on the match, going into the last break with scores level. The Young Roos dug deep in the last quarter, kicking 4.1 and keeping the Saints scoreless. Well done lads, a good win over good opposition.

ROOS 2’s NORTHERN EXPOSURE
The Roos 2’s have been brought undone for a second time by the Saints, losing by 27 points at Charles Mutton Reserve. The 1st quarter was a tight affair, with the Saints holding a 3 point lead at the break. The ladder leaders then kicked 6 goals to 2 to open up a 29 point lead at the main change. The Kangas started the 3rd quarter strong, and mid way through looked like they could run over the top of the Northerners, but the Saints put their foot down, finishing the 3rd term 28 points ahead. The Kangas toiled hard in the last but Saints did enough to keep the Roos at bay. Better luck next week fellas.

ROOS DEMORALISE SAINTS
Another polished display by the Senior Men, taking the Saints down by 116 points. Jacko after being best on for the 2’s, had to step up for the Seniors, after Opie went down with a calf injury during the warm up. The Roos Boys 1st quarter showed early signs of things to come, taking a 25 point lead into the first change. A 6 to 2 second term from the Kangas, saw the lead extend to 55 points at half time. By the end of the 3rd quarter the game was done and dusted, with the Roos blowing out the margin to 85 points. The Roo Boys maintained the unrelenting pressure in the last quarter, booting another 6 goals to 1. We now turn our attention to next weekend with a trip across the railway line to East Sunbury. This should be an EGGciting game.

NETBALL

KANGAS BLUE TOPPLE OAK PARK
The Div. 1 girls have managed back to back wins, taking down Oak Park by 5 goals. The Blue Roos are starting to get it together at the pointy end of the season, lets hope they can keep it up.

KANGAS WHITE NARROW DEFEAT
The White Roos lost by 2 goals to Craigieburn in Div.2. on Saturday morning. A win would have cemented them in the top 4, but with 3 rounds to go it looks like the girls will have to win at least 2 games to hang onto 4th spot. Dig deep ladies you know you can do it.
